3C Puts a New Twist On Compact Designs
			3C Inc.’s Ellipse is the first compact produced with a double-injection molding. This new compact has a snap hinge closure and a cover with a small window. The cover is produced in one piece, cutting down the time necessary for production and assembly, ultimately reducing costs.
Makeup Artist Chooses HCT Packaging When British makeup artist Linda Cantello launched a new coordinated range of cosmetics, she picked HCT Packaging’s Pure range of cases. Lipstick, eyeshadow, blush, loose powder and pressed powder are featured in pearlized white cases with elegant blue type, the bases of which have a contrasting tactile, soft-touch surface. All the compacts accommodate a full-sized mirror.
		The Vale Offered by Matrix The Vale, a new line of O-PET containers from Matrix Packaging, can be used to package hand soaps, lotions, hair care products or body relaxation products. Four sizes are available: 2-oz. (20-410 and 20-415 finish), 4-oz. (20-410 and 20-415 finish), 8-oz. (24-410 and 24-415 finish) and 12-oz. (24-410 and 24-415 finish). The four different sizes enable marketers to use each container on a retail, hotel amenity or promotional level.
SeaquistPerfect Dispensing Tops Sprays from Bumble and bumble New Bumble and bumble metro look sprays are the latest hair innovations from Estée Lauder. Their colorful aluminum cans are topped by color matched WS-29 actuators with frosted hoods from SeaquistPerfect Dispensing. Bb. does it all styling spray provides a workable, brushable hold for bending, molding, twisting, lifting or finishing hair, while Bb. classic hairspray offers a serious hold for serious styling. Both use the dependable VX valve from SeaquistPerfect Dispensing. Sprays are available in 4- and 10-oz. sizes.
		Emerald Green PET Bottles Introduced by O. Berk O. Berk Company has introduced Emerald Green PET straight-sided packers in 100-, 120- and 200cc sizes, all with 38mm J-cap finishes. The bottles are said to be ideal for packaging vitamins, nutritional supplements, herbal products, health food and pharmaceuticals. They have the clarity of glass, excellent moisture and oxygen barriers and are priced to compete with styrene and HDPE, according to O. Berk. The bottles also accommodate tamper-evident hinge-guard closures to assure product safety and protection.
Max Factor Opts For Risdon-AMS Risdon-AMS has produced the cap, base and slimline mechanism for Max Factor’s Lipfinity. The package features a Risdon-AMS-designed airtight system that protects against pomade drying during the use of the product. Lipfinity is produced for Procter & Gamble at Risdon-AMS’ facility in Mozzate, Italy, where the in-line production process, from resin to packing, is completely automated.
		Unique Nail Polish Bottle Patented by TricorBraun TricorBraun has patented an unusual .5-oz. glass bottle for nail polish. The base is indented so the consumer can keep a grip on the bottle and be less likely to knock it over and spill the product. The slanted body also keeps the bottle at a convenient angle to access product during application. The 15-415 finish is perpendicular, however, so that no special filling equipment is required.
Osmotics Chooses Ampoule From James Alexander Blue Copper 5, the newest skin treatment from Osmotics, uses custom plastic ampoules from the James Alexander Corporation. The plastic ampoule ensures safety and its 5ml size holds the proper amount for a single application. In addition to filling and sealing the one-piece plastic ampoule, James Alexander printed Osmotics’ logo, product name and lot code on each ampoule.
		INOAC Adds Apothecary Jar INOAC Packaging Group has a new addition to its series of cosmetic stock bottles and jars. The 570ml OFC Apothecary Jar made with heavy-wall PETE plastic features a hinged cover that provides an air-tight seal when secured. This jar is ideal for both bath products and spa lines. Also, the cover of the 570ml OFC can be custom engraved. All of the company’s bottles and jars can be customized in a variety of colors including clear, tints and opaques. Custom decorating can be achieved by spray frosting, hot stamping and silk screening.
Risdon-AMS Is in the Pink Risdon-AMS has produced a MiniMist sampler spray for the Gap’s So Pink EDT spray. The sampler is being used as a promotional item to encourage purchase of the full-size fragrance at Gap stores nationwide. The 1.8ml spray package produces about 35 sprays per vial.
		Frosted Pumps Available From Mega Pumps Frosted airless pump packages from Mega Pumps create an upscale look that suggests quality and a more pervasive level of product satisfaction, according to the company. The pump packages are said to be ideal for use in personal care, bath and body items and cosmetics. Marketers can choose from oval and round bodies paired with frosted, metallized or colored closures and imaginative 360° silk screen, hot stamping or pad printing decoration. 		Airless Mini Pump Available from Mega Pumps Mega Pumps has introduced an airless dispensing mini pump system to complement the larger-sized Mega Pump packages. The mini pump enables marketers to extend product lines into eye cream, gels, samples, travel sizes and other products requiring smaller volumes.
